Quicktext is an Add-on for Thunderbird that lets you create and manage reusable email templates with dynamic content — recipient names, dates, images, attachments, scripts, and more.
Quicktext was originally created by Emil Hesslow, who maintained both a free "Standard" version and a paid "Pro" version. When Emil was no longer able to continue development, he released both versions under the MPL 2.0 license. In 2018, John Bieling took over development and has since kept Quicktext working across every major Thunderbird release. The official version is based on the "Pro" version — there is no longer a separate Quicktext Pro.
Quicktext has been fully migrated to the modern WebExtension framework, ensuring long-term compatibility without requiring updates for each new Thunderbird version.
